Another great time IN the water. This was day two for many of the instructors that taught in the Intro to Paddling class the day before. Steve Voss lead us in a packed day at the WW park. Morning discussions & demos of many new rescue techniques, including ways to 'unpin' a boat in swift water. The afternoon, we all donned our wet & dry suits and got 'wet', literally. We put into practice what we had discussed in the morning. Everything from wading the rapids, aggressively swimming the rapids, self rescue techniques, river crossing with ropes, strainer climbing exercises, throw rope techniques, live bait rescue techniques and many more. All of these activities was in the mighty Fox River. A few of us "ran" the WW park before heading home. Needless to say we were all very 'happily' exhausted. But we learned SO much valuable skills. We just hope we never have to use them.
