Co-Leader: Brian Walsh/Monica Salud Location: Dayton - Ottawa, IL Skill Level: Beginner Category: Day trip Details: We will paddle about 6 miles on the lower Fox River from Dayton, IL to Allen Park in Ottawa, IL where we will stop for lunch. For the second half of our trip, will will paddle another 6+ miles on the Illinois River with a side-trip to the Sheehan Island (water level dependent), then continue on river right to explore the towering Buffalo Rock State Park. We will end our trip at the Starved Rock Marina, our designated take out point.
Bring water, lunch, snacks, PFD, sunscreen, bug spray and appropriate weather gear.
PFDs need to be worn all the time while on the water. It must be on you and not just with you.
Put-in: Below Dayton Dam, West bank at 41.3879° -88.7894°
Take out: Starved Rock Marina at 1130 N 27th Rd, Ottawa, IL 61350
Car shift: 9:30AM
