This class will build on the moving water skills learned in Introduction to Kayaking and Moving Water I. Students will practice various maneuvers such as upstream ferries, downstream ferries, eddy turns and peel outs in the class 2 rapid at the Marge Cline Whitewater Park in Yorkville.

Students will also receive instruction on reading the river and recognizing hazards.

PREREQUISITE: For your safety and to keep the class on pace, students must have completed the PSC Introduction to Paddling and Moving Water 1 classes. If you have not attended the PSC Introduction to Kayaking class and Moving Water 1 classes, you must arrange to demonstrate equivalent skills prior to participation in this class. Please contact the Lead Instructor, Marlena Bertolozzi before registering.

Pricing:

Registration: $15 for PSC members, $35 for non-members

ACA membership is required for participation. You will be asked to purchase a $5 one-day membership or supply your ACA member number at checkout.

Helmets and spray skirts will be required for this class.

Participants will need to bring their own boat, paddle, PFD, snacks, lunch, and all personal items. Instructors will contact participants prior to the event with special instructions or equipment needs.
