Registration is full for this program. Thank you to all who signed up early. We are looking forward to a great class!
This class will teach basic moving water skills that every river kayaker should have. Students will build on the skills learned in the Introduction to Paddling class, and will learn such maneuvers as upstream ferries, downstream ferries, eddy turns and peel outs.
Students will also receive instruction on reading the river and recognizing hazards.
PREREQUISITE: Students must have completed the PSC Introduction to Paddling class. If you have not attended the PSC Introduction to Kayaking class, you must contact the Lead Instructor, Marlene Bertolozzi, by clicking on the blue name link, before registering.
Early bird registration: $10 (if registered by May 14)
Regular pricing: $20 (after May 14)
At checkout, a registration service fee will be added by signmeup.com of $1.93 (based on early bird pricing) or $2.60 (based on regular pricing). An addition $0.33 fee will be added if an ACA one-day membership is needed.
Participants will need to bring their own boat, paddle, PFD, snacks, lunch, and all personal items. Instructors will contact participants prior to the event with special instructions or equipment needs.
Prairie State Canoeists (PSC) members will be given preference for registration. We expect to have enough capacity to serve everyone, but if registration reaches capacity and a PSC member wishes to join, the last non-PSC member registrant may be asked to give up their spot.
Registration will close on June 5 at 5 pm.
